Personal Logo Design:
The following is the process behind creating my own logo as Honeyweathers Studio. The creation of my logo was both a challenge in design as well as recognizing what
defines my art and choices as an artist.
The Design Phase:
The illustrative aspect of creating my design led me to ask myself many questions. What made my art my own? How would I define my use of color, motion, and style? And, most importantly, what did I want those who come in contact with my art to feel? Overall, these questions guided me into choosing a more green and gold feel for my style guide.

It wasn't difficult to decide what I wanted my logo to showcase. I chose the word 'honeyweather' to be a play on golden weather. I choose saturated colors for my 3D models, and my illustrative work most of the time. Golden weather feels to me like golden hour, not only a perfectly sunny spring day. To showcase this, I chose a tree and a sun. The tree to represent growth as both an artist, and the sun to represent light and bringing a sense of hope and creativity to others.
Creating the Model:
For the model, I reused a base tree model I created for my short film, Flicker. The model I used in flicker is relatively low poly, but, for my logo, I created a smoother look by adding in bevels on any sharp edges. I also added roots to help with my own representation of growth.

The sun began as a low poly build, but quickly became higher poly for the sake of smooth rendering. While I recognize the importance of not adding in extra poly's when it isn't necessary, I wanted the sun to keep a specific, round shape. The edges of the sun are round to create a cohesive look with the rounded edges of the tree top and roots.
